Leave the everyday behind

The Atlantic shoulders your arrival along the unforgettable Barrow House driveway, with the Slieve Mish mountains framing the views. Straight away you begin to leave everyday life behind and settle into your Welcome Home experience.

Welcome Home Retreats has sole use of the house for the retreat. It has been impeccably restored, with Georgian features that celebrate the rich heritage of this elegant home.

The rooms

Every room its own story

Every guest bedroom looks out over Barrow Bay or the landscaped gardens, and no two are alike, from bright sea-view rooms to an ornately carved antique bed.

The Library, the Marble Room and the downstairs den are quiet places to relax, and there are no televisions or radios competing with the peace of the house. Both the Library and the Marble Room have open fires, window seats and binoculars for spotting the seals and herons in the bay. There is Wi-Fi in every bedroom.

Practice

Yoga above the water

Sunrise and sunset yoga takes place on the deck overlooking the harbour. At the end of the day, the outdoor sauna restores tired limbs, with the option to dip straight into the water from the deck or step under the outdoor shower.

Two outdoor buildings offer space to meditate or simply break away: An Áit Ciúin, The Quiet Place, and the Pagoda in the woodland, with a raised view across the water.

A short walk from the house lie the pristine Barrow Beach and the Atlantic Ocean, where we spend considerable time.
